Sheffield United’s resistance to selling Iliman Ndiaye continues to be highlighted by the French media.
Today, it’s La Provence who feature a story explaining the hard time Marseille have been having when trying to sign the 23-year-old.
It’s claimed that Sheffield United have been ‘very greedy’ when negotiating the transfer, and that’s why no progress is expected soon.
The report recalls that Ndiaye has been a Marseille fan since childhood, and this month he even agreed to a five-year contract with the club.
The problem is that Sheffield United have not only been tough on the negotiations with the French side, but also try to convince him to stay and sign a new contract.
The player has been living a ‘complex’ situation, with his latest decision being the move to Marseille. Now that won’t happen until the clubs find an agreement, and that doesn’t seem close.
This particular story doesn’t say how much the Blades demand for the transfer. Previous claims from the French media said €20m, and that doesn’t seem a lot for a player who’s valued by Transfermarkt at €18m.
