There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Sheffield United have stepped up their pursuit of Besiktas attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The former Liverpool and Arsenal player has been linked with a move to the Blades in recent weeks as he eyes a return to England.
Duhuliye today report on the latest developments regarding Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future at Besiktas and they reiterate the Super Lig side are looking to offload him this summer.
The 30-year-old doesn’t look to be in the plans of Giovanni van Bronckhorst for next season after recent signings by the Istanbul club.
This gives Sheffield United the opportunity to come in for the player and it’s claimed they have entered into negotiations for him. The Englishman is said to be keen to return to his home country and had an injury impacted debut season in Turkey.
Southampton have also been linked with their former player and could offer him Premier League football for next season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for Besiktas last season, scoring 4 goals. He’s contracted to the club until June 2026.
