Sevilla have been one of the busier clubs in Europe this summer, with Director of Football Monchi rebuilding the squad for new manager Julen Lopetegui.
There have already been several arrivals, but they’re not stopping yet, with Monchi focusing on finding a new goalkeeper.
And that appears to have taken him to Leeds United, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that they are interested in goalkeeper Kiko Casilla. This follows earlier reports that suggested the same.
The 32-year-old is potentially eyeing up a return to Spain, and that makes him an ideal option for Sevilla, who need an experienced keeper to play back up to Tomas Vaclik.
Sevilla will likely have to push hard to get the player though. Fichajes report there is plenty of interest in Casilla while Leeds want him to continue at Elland Road.
It’s stated Sevilla are ‘pushing hard’ for the signing, and that the Yorkshire club have ‘numerous offers’ for their player.
The situation is likely to revolve around what happens with Sergio Rico. The goalkeeper returned from a spell with Fulham last season and has offers to leave permanently.
If he does so, Sevilla could move for Casilla. If he doesn’t, there’s every chance he will be the number two instead and Casilla won’t be needed.
