West Brom are positioning themselves to sign Stade Rennais’ Glen Kamara in the winter market.

That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who report West Brom are ‘seriously interested’ in the 30-year-old. West Brom’s interest isn’t new as they had already expressed a desire to sign him last summer. Leicester City and Ipswich Town also considered a swoop.

It’s claimed the Baggies are considering a new attempt to sign Kamara in January.

The midfielder has been restricted to 19 minutes this season. His situation at the Ligue 1 side doesn’t seem to have put off West Brom, and they could offer a fresh start.

Jeunes Footeux states the Championship side’s plan is to sign him on loan and cover part of his salary. He’s currently said to be earning €250,000 per month.

Although this could appeal all parties, the report explains Stade Rennais are looking to cut ties with his permanently. They invested €10m to buy the Finland international from Leeds United in Julu 2024 and are now looking to collect €3m from his sale.

Kamara ‘represents a financial burden’ for the French club. Therefore, they are ‘keen to offload’ him in the next window.

West Brom may take advantage of his situation to sign him on favourable terms. They are seriously interested and whether the Baggies can reach an agreement needs to be seen.
