According to Turkish newspaper Fotomac, Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has spoken to his wife Amine Gulse about a move to Fenerbahce and she’s given him the green light to leave the Gunners.
Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that the Super Lig side are in transfer talks to sign Ozil on a loan deal.
It’s now reported Ozil is ‘seriously’ considering leaving Arsenal in January and has informed his wife about his plans. After their discussion, it’s claimed Gulse insisted she was keen on a move to Istanbul and he believes living in Turkey would be a ‘better’ environment for both of them.
Fotomac also claim Arsenal are open to allowing him to join another club on a loan deal and it’s reported Fenerbahce are keen to take him for 18 months, just like what they did with Chelsea’s Victor Moses last January.
The Premier League club will also consider covering a percentage of Ozil’s wages if he goes out on loan, and the Turkish newspaper say they could follow the ‘Manchester United formula’ after they loaned Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan in the summer.
