With Manchester City loanee Nahuel Ferraresi proving to be a promising player at São Paulo, it always seemed like the Brazilian club would make an effort to keep him.
It turns out something unexpected happened at the weekend, as the defender suffered a knee injury, and with the need for surgery, he could be sidelined for about eight months.
UOL today shares a story on the scenario, and besides highlighting São Paulo’s need for a new signing, they also speak of the situation with Manchester City.
It’s claimed that the Tricolor should now ‘reopen talks’ with the City Group to extend the player’s loan, which was supposed to expire in June.
São Paulo reportedly want to have the defender until the end of the year. In case that doesn’t happen, then it’s likely he won’t play for them again, and will return to Manchester City.
Following the injury, Ferraresi made a post on social media about the difficult recovery process he’s about to face. There, São Paulo director Carlos Belmonte left a comment saying the club will give their best effort to try to keep him for longer.
