After claims from Holland that Jordy Clasie was edging closer to a loan to Belgium at Club Brugge, where he would team up with Stefano Denswil and Ruud Vormer, the Southampton midfielder might have another option in front of him.
According to Benjamin Idrac, journalist for Ouest-France, Rennes in Ligue 1 are also interested in the Dutch midfielder, who clearly hasn’t made it into Mauricio Pellegrino’s plans at St Mary’s.
After someone to sit in midfield, tackle and move the game forward, the French side have also targeted Leicester City’s Nampalys Mendy, who has allegedly already turned them down, and Lyon’s Jordan Ferri.

It seems that it’ll be one of the three, and while it doesn’t look like it will be the Foxes’ midfielder, perhaps they can come to some agreement with Southampton regarding a loan for Clasie.
AD in Holland appeared pretty confident that the 26-year-old would be heading to Belgium, but it’ll be interesting to see if a last minute prospective move to Ligue 1 will change his mind?
