Douglas Luiz has had a difficult few months at Nottingham Forest since joining on loan from Juventus in the summer.
He’s played 10 times across all competitions but the Brazilian has faced two separate thigh injuries. This is similar to his struggles in Turin, where the midfielder had multiple muscle problems.
As the 27-year-old looks to turn things around, there is belief he may not last too long at Nottingham Forest.
Gazzetta dello Sport‘s Giovanni Albanese reports that it is now unlikely Douglas Luiz meets the requirements to join the Tricky Trees permanently.
The midfielder must play 15 matches, each lasting at least 45 minutes to make sure that Nottingham Forest trigger their obligation to buy. So far, he has played only six games in the Premier League and has played over 45 minutes only four times.
The former Aston Villa man will have to play at least 45 minutes 11 times in the remaining 22 games of the Premier League. Considering his fitness problems, there are major doubts over whether that can actually happen or not.
Because of this, Albanese believes that the Brazilian could be in line for a ‘sensational return’ to Juventus.
For Juve, this would be something of a transfer disaster, given they thought Luiz wouldn’t be returning.
