Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is continuing to be linked with a move Galatasaray, and Gunes claim the player is the Turkish club’s first choice.
We recently covered reports from Turkey that Cahill is a target for Galatasaray and Gunes says their manager Fatih Terim is keen to work with the player.
Galatasaray have also been linked with former Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer but Gunes report the Istanbul club are prioritising Chelsea’s Cahill.
After their long-term target Jason Denayer was transfered to Lyon, Galatasaray have switched their attention to other targets and Gunes report things will be much clearer next week.
Cahill could struggle to get regular games under Maurizio Sarri and the 32 year old may have to leave the Premier League club.
Gunes believe the prospect of Champions League football could be a huge factor for Cahill and the Turkish champions are hoping they land the Chelsea defender, who has just ten months left on his contract.
A move to Turkey would be a surprise for Cahill, given it’s not a path well trodden by English footballers.
