Coventry City star Viktor Gyökeres has insisted he is not paying any attention to transfer rumours as the likes of Leeds United and West Ham chase his signature.

Fotboll Skanalen have an interview with the forward today after he bagged a goal and an assists in Sweden’s 5-0 win over Azerbaijan.

His goal contributions continued another fine season for the 24-year-old, who has managed 18 goals and eight assists In 38 games in the Championship this season.

That’s continued the fine form he showed for Coventry last season, in which he managed 18 goals and five assists in 47 games in all competitions.

He was linked with a move away from the club in the summer and January transfer windows without departing, but continues to be targeted, with Fotboll Skanalen stating that Leeds, West Ham and Burnley are among those interested in his signature.

The Premier League duo in particular have struggled for goals this season, with Leeds’ lack of a central striker well established and Gianluca Scamacca struggling since his arrival at West Ham in the summer.

Burnley, meanwhile, are sure to want to strengthen their squad in the summer should they secure promotion to the Premier League as expected.

It seems the Coventry star isn’t keen on fuelling those rumours, though, insisting that he is simply focused on his football.

“These are just rumours. We’ll see what happens in the summer,” he said.

“I try not to get any info about it right now. I want to focus on the matches. So, you have to take it then.

“There is no transfer window now. So, it feels a little unnecessary to put energy on it now.”
