As Atlético Mineiro fans continue to wait for the signing of Gustavo Scarpa, reports from Brazil show that the saga is getting to the final stage.
Earlier this week, we saw a story claiming the player was still negotiating with the Tricky Trees, as the club owe him a signing bonus and remaining salary payments before they sort his departure.
As journalist André Hernan now features an update on the situation, he says Scarpa’s contract termination with Nottingham Forest is ‘well underway’.
It’s claimed that the midfielder should be announced by Atlético Mineiro in the ‘coming days’, and should arrive in Brazil before the end of the year.
As Globo Esporte writes about the transfer, they claim the Brazilian side are sorting the ‘final details’ for the signing, although they stay silent about it. The outlet confirms that Scarpa and Nottingham Forest still negotiate some pending payments before the move is made official.
“For the sake of Atlético, secrecy is necessary. In football, if there’s no secrecy, what you say goes against the club, it disrupts negotiations. I don’t tell my father, my children, because one passes it on to the other, passes it on to the other and so it goes. When it comes to negotiating with an athlete, it’s total silence.
