Earlier this week, Corriere dello Sport broke the news that Inter are interested in Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta to replace the departing Joao Cancelo.
The Portuguese right-back won’t be staying beyond his loan spell, with Juventus said to be interested instead, meaning Luciano Spalletti will need a new player to fill the gap in his squad.
Corriere stated that a bid of €20m would be enough to convince Chelsea to let the Italian leave, and that’s now been corroborated by Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday.
The newspaper explain Zappacosta’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, recently visited Inter’s headquarters as his client is ‘leaving the Blues after just a year’.
The Serie A club asked for some information about the player’s situation, and didn’t exclude coming back for an attempt to sign him, especially if Chelsea were inclined to agree to a loan with a view to buy.
As well as Zappacosta, Inter are also said to be looking at Aleix Vidal, suggesting they have a list of targets, and they’re working down it.
The Chelsea man appears to be top for now, but he’s also the more expensive of the options.
