Over the past few weeks, we have seen an increasing number of articles suggesting that Clément Lenglet could be leaving Aston Villa.
The defender arrived on loan from Barcelona at the request of Unai Emery, but the Frenchman has yet to really make his mark at Villa Park, and there are reports claiming he is not unhappy with his situation.
That is something that really suits teams such as AC Milan, who are on the lookout for a left-footed centre-back in January, and could take advantage of this, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.
It’s explained the Serie A side ‘do not lose sight’ of the Aston Villa loanee, whom they point out has only featured in the Conference League to date.
There have been some murmurs that Bayern Munich could be ready to make a move for the 28-year-old, who will have wanted far more from his loan spell than what he is currently getting.
As for Aston Villa in all this, they would likely have to agree to him leaving in January before any move to Milan or Bavaria were to take place.
Considering his use, they might be open to it, although that would only leave them with four centre-backs, one of which is an injured Tyrone Mings, who is out of action until the end of the season.
