Wolverhampton Wanderers are back being mentioned as serious contenders to sign Benfica midfielder Pizzi next summer.

As written by O Jogo today, the player is coming back from suspension, and as he gets his spot back in the team, he’ll be able to show himself to the interested sides, with Wolves being the main one.

O Jogo makes sure to recall that Pizzi has a contract running until 2022, and a release clause of of €45m, so Benfica are well protected in case any clubs come for him in the summer.

Currently with five goals and 12 assists this season, Pizzi is considered to be a very important player for Benfica’s squad, especially because these are pretty good numbers for a central midfielder.

Now this story may look interesting and all, but there’s a big chance that it’s coming from another nonsense rumour.

Back on Saturday, we’ve covered news from A Bola which started the speculation. They also claimed that Wolves were interested in Pizzi, but said their source was HITC.

HITC often recommends signing for English clubs, and that was the case in that occasion, so they never really reported that interest.

Now does O Jogo know something or they were just following the steps of A Bola? Considering how close the two stories came out, we’d say they all come from that HITC article.
