Inter Milan’s interest in Matteo Darmian is becoming a matter receiving daily reports in the Italian media.
Calcio Mercato have a new update today, this time saying the Nerazzurri could be the favourites to land the player in January.
As Darmian can play on the left and on the right side, he is described as ‘perfect’ for manager Frank de Boer, who doesn’t have many good options in both positions.
The website highlights the fact that the player had only one appearance under José Mourinho this season and was left out of the squad for the match against Zorya on Thursday, as the ‘adapted midfielder’ Timothy Fosu-Mensah was picked instead.
Although they claim that Juventus, Roma and Inter have all tried to sign him during the summer, only Inter are mentioned as a potential destination for the winter.
Darmian would be concerned about losing his place in the national team, and could use this as a motivation to change clubs quickly. What is still unknown is José Mourinho’s opinion on the move, and the Italians have no idea if the manager will have the same reaction he had to their last approach.
