Watford’s Rocco Vata has contributed to four goals in the Championship this season.

The 20-year-old is nursing a hamstring problem but had started three consecutive games before falling prey to the injury. He has played in central midfield but also further forward and out wide.

In the 2024/25 campaign, he scored three times in the Championship, scoring once in the FA Cup.

The versatile attacker has clearly taken his form from last season forward. His stature has risen and is now attracting attention from Italy.

TuttoAtalanta report that scouts from Atalanta have been spotted at Vicarage Road. Vata has been under ‘special observation’ from the Bergamo club, who have been monitoring the talent for the last two years.

The report claims that the Watford player appeals to multiple clubs across Europe, with Torino having previously tried to sign him.

There is belief that Vata’s value has risen since his time at Celtic, with the Hornets signing him in 2024.

Atalanta have been impressed by the Watford player’s ability to open up packed defences and his technical skills.

To land the Irishman, a ‘significant offer’ will be needed and attention on Vata can grow further.
