Losing Alfredo Morelos on a free, Rangers are trying their best to give Michael Beale a new striker ahead of the new season.
While they have the likes of Fashion Sakala and Antonio Colak already at the club, the Ibrox residents want to replace the Colombian, which is where US Cremonese’s Cyriel Dessers comes in.
The Nigeria international scored six goals in 26 Serie A games last season, and that was enough to convince Rangers to make a move for him, with the deal well on its way according to Calciomercato.it.
They state the player is ‘about to say goodbye’ to Cremonese after just one season following the club’s relegation to Serie B.
Dessers was unable to help them stay up, and the Italians are now ‘obliged to sell him’.
That’s where Rangers come in, with it said that negotiations with the Ibrox side are ‘well advanced’, pushing Beale and co. to be ‘confident of completing the operation’ for the 28-year-old.
As for the fee, the outlet add that the two teams could reach ‘an agreement’ at around €4.2m with a bonus of €1m.
