Hugo Bueno joined Feyenoord from Wolves in the summer and has impressed at the Dutch club since his arrival.
He now has three assists in the league for Feyenoord, also showing his ability in the Champions League so far in the campaign.
The 22-year-old has now opened up about the switch and in an interview with AD he talked about several aspects of the transfer.
He told the Dutch outlet: “From day one, I saw how big this club is.”
The fullback stated that winning games in the Eredivisie is difficult and the league offers something different when compared to the Premier League.
“I came from the Premier League and I knew that the Eredivisie would be ‘something different’. I don’t mean easy, because that is simply not the case.
“The intensity is different, that is clear. And the way of playing football too. But don’t dismiss that as easier, because winning matches here is simply very difficult.”
The Spaniard also stated that manager Brian Priske’s system has brought about a certainty in the club’s playing style.
“I spoke to the coach and it was clear that I could play in a 3-4-3 and a 4-3-3. But it all has to fall into place.
“And we are much further along now than in the summer, that is clear. You do that by working hard and realising that everything has to be better.’’
A fairly technical left-back, Bueno had some good moments at Wolves but it never materialised into him becoming a regular at the club.
Given the way his stint at Feyenoord is going and that he is playing in the Champions League, Wolves will be very encouraged.
