Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Daniel Podence may have lived some intense hours today, and it seems his exit from the club is still on.

According to the latest reports from Portugal, the 27-year-old could be on his way to Saudi Arabia.

Journalist Pedro Sepulveda claims Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq are those who are ‘pushing’ to get Podence signed from Wolves.

This comes out as a late solution from the player, who’s been living under uncertainty at Molineux.

On Friday morning, Portuguese outlet O Jogo had claimed that Al-Duhail were signing Podence, as they had a €6m deal with Wolves for the transfer.

It was Pedro Sepulveda who then came up to say the move collapsed. He claimed that since Philippe Coutinho is arriving from Aston Villa, the Qatari club had his doors blocked for Podence.

The journalist claimed the player would then have to stay at Wolves or find a move to Saudi Arabia, since a transfer to another European club seemed pretty unlikely at this stage.

Now it seems Al-Ettifaq are close to putting an end to this saga, and Podence will get the exit from Wolves he has been looking for.
