Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Braut Håland was linked with Premier League clubs after the first group stage Champions League fixture in September.
Prior to the second fixture of the group stages this week, reports suggested Arsenal would send a scout to Anfield to watch Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szboszlai in action against Liverpool.
On October 3rd, we carried a report from Calciomercato, who explained the Reds were also keeping an eye on the Hungarian when they face Salzburg.
The same website now claims the European champions are ‘on the trail’ of Szboszlai‘s teammate Takumi Minamino, following the Japanese forward’s impressive display against Jürgen Klopp’s side.
Minamino got his name on the scoresheet in Salzburg’s 4-3 defeat to Liverpool and with that has taken his overall tally to six goals and eight assists in 11 matches this season. He operates on the right wing, but can also play on the left side or up front.
Calciomercato doesn’t make it clear if it is their original information or they have sourced it from elsewhere.
Whilst it’s inevitable that Salzburg players will be linked to Liverpool considering the two clubs face each other twice this season in the Champions League group stage, there are certainly worse places to shop.
