Fulham star Joao Palhinha is expected to complete a move to Bayern Munich ‘very soon’ after the two sides finally reached an agreement on a transfer.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that the two sides have agreed a deal worth €46m plus add-ons for the Portugal international.
He explains that Bayern Munich and Fulham finally ‘reached a breakthrough’ in negotiations for the midfielder today after the German side had renewed their interest in a deal.
As everyone now knows, they came close to signing Palhinha last summer, only for the transfer to fail at the last minute as Fulham cancelled due to their inability to find a replacement on deadline day.
Bayern’s interest never went away, and they’ve returned early this year but struggled to find an agreement with Fulham, who have demanded a top fee for the midfielder after securing him to a new deal last summer following the Bayern debacle.
An agreement has now been struck, though, with Plettenberg reporting that Bayern and Fulham reached an understanding in the last few hours.
He reports that the ‘saga is over’, the deal will happen and Palhinha will move to Bavaria for €46m plus add-ons and sign a contract until 2028, with a medical due to take place once his participation in Euro 2024 with Portugal has come to an end.
