Hark your mind back to the summer transfer window, and you may remember that Real Madrid midfielder Isco was being linked with a move to Manchester City.
City were reportedly keen on the midfielder as they believed he could fit perfectly into Pep Guardiola’s side but a move ultimately never came about.
Rumours linking the Spanish midfielder to the club have not decreased since then, with reports in England in the last fortnight suggesting Manchester City and Arsenal could be involved in a tug of war for the player.
That, however, seems unlikely, with El Desmarque saying that City had the chance to sign Isco this summer but decided against it.
According to the website, there are doubts about Isco’s professionalism spreading in ‘the world of football’, and these doubts have been picked up on by potential suitors.
Manchester City are one of those and this ‘prevented’ him from moving to the Etihad in the summer. Bayern Munich were another side who turned down the chance, instead signing Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.
The doubts are also preventing Isco from being a ‘coveted piece’ for clubs in the January transfer window, which suggests City won’t be looking at him then either.
In fact, at this point, Isco is probably lucky even to be linked with Manchester City. There have been rumours about him going there since he was at Malaga and they refuse to abate, despite his poor form and evidence why they wouldn’t be interested in the move.
This from El Desmarque should put such rumours to bed, although in reality, we all know that’s unlikely to happen.
