Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yasin Ayari has been linked to AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

This was reported in the UK, where it was stated the two teams are looking at him for the summer window.

On March 12th, Fotboll Direkt reported Brighton want SEK 400m [€36.5m] for the Sweden international. They also stated his valuation is only growing.

Fotbollskanalen cover comments made by Ayari to the Swedish media, who asked him about the Milan and BVB links.

“I don’t focus much on it. Rumours are rumours. I don’t read much [what’s written in the] media,” he said.

The 21-year-old arrived at the Premier League club from AIK Fotboll in January 2024, when Roberto De Zerbi was in charge at Brighton. He wasn’t able to convince the Italian and the Seagulls sent him out on loan to Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers last season.

Ayari’s situation improved after Fabian Hürzeler arrived at the club last summer. He’s been a regular this season, playing 1,660 minutes from 29 games, and is pleased with his development.

“The season has been quite okay. I’ve had more playing time. That’s the big difference,” Ayari explained.

“Then, what I’ve achieved… I know what I’m going for and what I can do on the pitch. I’ve played a lot and have had to show that I’m up to that level. It’s nothing new for me.”

When asked how it is playing on the big stage, he added: “It’s felt natural, to be honest. I think the good matches I’ve played have been against the best opponents. So, it’s been fun and felt very natural. Maybe it’s a coincidence that it’s been against those teams.”
