With Lucas Moura set to leave Tottenham Hotspur for free this summer, we’re just getting started with the many rumours there’ll be about his future.
The latest of them comes from Brazil, where journalist Jorge Nicola explains the whole story on Youtube.
He claims to have received information from a good source of his at São Paulo saying there’s an investor willing to help to bring Lucas from Tottenham.
This partner would help to pay part of the player’s salary, and in exchange, get part of the profit from his shirt sales and explore commercial campaigns of his.
Nicola then got in touch with Lucas’ agent, Junior Pedroso, who turned down that possibility. He claimed the player is expected to stay in Europe, and the chance of a return to the Brazilian club ‘does not exist’ for now.
The journalist also claims to have spoken to people from São Paulo’s marketing department, who denied that as well.
Lucas Moura is indeed expected to finish the season with Tottenham and then see what’s on the table. In case he gets anything better than a return to Brazil, he’s very likely to take it and postpone his return to his home country.
