Pervis Estupinan fancies playing at Tottenham under Roberto De Zerbi

Pervis Estupinan’s struggles at AC Milan can lead to a Tottenham transfer. The left-back is keen on a transfer to the London side.

Sport Witness have covered the links, with the Italian press having reported about the defender’s future over the last two weeks.

It is believed Tottenham have made initial contact, with Milan looking to earn a capital gain from his sale.

Estupinan has struggled at the Rossoneri since his arrival from Brighton. His defensive shortcomings have come under the scanner, with the Ecuadorian having made several high-profile errors across the campaign.

A move back to the Premier League is gaining traction, with MilanLive now reporting about the possibility.

Estupinan keen on Tottenham transfer

The outlet are certain that the ex-Brighton player will leave Milan in the summer. He scored a big goal against Inter Milan some weeks ago but that hasn’t proved enough to keep him at the San Siro.

Atletico Madrid are interested in the full-back but a return to England seems like a more likely idea right now.

Several teams are keen on him, however, Tottenham’s appointment of Roberto De Zerbi can swing things in their favour.

This makes Estupinan keen on a move to Spurs, with the Italian ‘ready to welcome’ the 28-year-old back under his wing. The Milan player is ‘particularly appreciated’ by the new manager, who is already making plans for next season.

Fulham and West Ham have been previously mentioned as suitors too. Now, it feels like Tottenham are a much more likelier destination.

Deal can resurrect Estupinan career

A move to the London side can prove to be game-changing for Estupinan. Under Max Allegri, he has been forced to do a lot of the dirty work and this has minimised his attacking contributions, essentially exposing his weaknesses.

Things will be much different under De Zerbi, who brought the best out of the left-back.

Due to the Italian’s system, Estupinan would fly forward and attack spaces in a very settled setup. The way his career is going, he needs that once again and there is no surprise he wants a move to Tottenham.
