Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto de Zerbi has assigned Ansu Fati a ‘specific physical work plan’ to get him up to speed at the club.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who cover the player today and De Zerbi’s plan to get him up to scratch in the Premier League.
The newspaper explains that De Zerbi ‘continues to trust’ Fati, who arrived on loan from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
He’s been featuring on and off for Brighton since, raising some questions in Spain as to whether the deal is working out as expected.
It seems those fears aren’t working their way into Brighton, though, with it explained that De Zerbi believes in the player but knows work is needed.
Thus, he has assigned him a ‘specific work plan’ so he can get ready for the Premier League and European fixtures which has them playing two or three games a week.
The belief at the club is that Fati lacks rhythm and speed and so they’re working on those, hoping to help him back to full fitness and thus his best in a Brighton shirt.
This is something they have done with summer signing Carlos Baleba and his recent impressive display in the draw with Liverpool is seen as an example for Fati. Indeed, it’s stated he taught an ‘impatient’ Fati the ‘way to be ready’.
Whether Fati has taken that on board remains to be seen but it appears Brighton still have faith and are hoping their plan comes to fruition before too long.
