Wolves signed Fer López from Celta Vigo in June for around €25m.
The Spanish club’s supporters weren’t pleased with the decision to sell the 21-year-old to Wolves. Last month, Celta Vigo president Marián Mouriño said his sale was needed to balance their books.
He’s struggled since arriving at Molineux. The attacking midfielder has failed to score and has one assist from seven matches for Wolves.
AS claim López is an option for the La Liga side in the winter market. His transfer is ‘on the table’ but the operation remains complex.
At this moment in time, there’s no negotiations with Wolves. Before making advances, the Spanish club first half to free up a space in their squad by offloading one of their current players.
Celta Vigo will then have to convince the Premier League side that a loan move in January can help him enjoy regular minutes and improve his valuation.
El Desmarque also report the Wolves summer signing has an option to secure a rapid return to his former club.
The English club are yet to register a league win after 12 matches. They already parted ways with Vítor Pereira and appointed Rob Edwards as his successor earlier this month.
According to El Desmarque, López has fallen out of favour with the new manager, and his situation at Wolves has become ‘practically untenable’. Therefore, the Vigo based club are considering bringing him back in January.
It’s claimed Celta Vigo have to make room in their squad by letting one of their players leave. The second step would be to find an agreement with Wolves for a loan deal.
Like AS, El Desmarque state a return would be beneficial for all parties. It’s unclear whether Wolves share the opinion.
