On Thursday, UOL reported Chelsea have included Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento in their target list for the summer window.
This is backed up by today’s Gazzetta dello Sport when explaining Inter Milan’s interest in the 24-year-old.
Simone Inzaghi’s side have to be wary of possible competition from Chelsea to sign the stopper.
Yann Sommer is currently the first-choice goalkeeper at the San Siro, but the Serie A side are looking for the 35-year-old’s successor because of his age. This is why the Nerazzurri are focusing on Bento, who made his debut for Brazil in March’s international break.
Inter’s intention is to secure his services in the next window, so that he can initially compete with Sommer for a place in the starting lineup, before eventually replacing him.
Gazzetta state the Italian club will face ‘danger’ from England, where Chelsea are ‘lurking’ to sign the South American.
It’s further claimed the Blues ‘turn the spotlight’ on Bento, who is valued at €15m by Athletico Paranaense.
As well as Chelsea and Inter, Benfica are also in the picture to sign the Brazil international.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side took Robert Sánchez from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer.
The Spaniard has kept five clean sheets and conceded 30 goals from 21 games this season.
