Vitesse goalkeeper Remko Pasveer has told the Dutch media he doesn’t know if his teammate Eloy Room will be leaving the club this summer.

Pasveer looks set to start the season as Vitesse’s No.1, and subsequently his rival Room has been linked with a move to Everton in recent days.

Voetbal Zone have reported on comments made by Pasveer when he was quizzed if he expects Room to be transferred: “I’ve not been in contact with Room, and I do not know if that is the case.

“Healthy competition is just fine and I just want to do my job with Vitesse, that’s what he wants to do. But I can’t look to see what Eloy does, I’m busy with myself. No hard feelings.”

In recent days there’s been suggestions in the Netherlands Room is trying to force a move away from Vitesse, with Everton continuing to be linked with the goalkeeper.

The 27 year old sat out this weekend’s Dutch Super Cup game against Feyenoord due to illness, but some in the Dutch press think this is a plot to get a move before the window closes.

Last week Everton were again reported to be showing an interest in Room after being linked with the player for the first time last month. With uncertainty over the future of Joel Robles, Everton boss Ronald Koeman may bring in Room as his third choice keeper.
