Liverpool added four midfielders to their squad in the last window and are looking to further strengthen the same position in the upcoming windows.
Earlier this month, Tutto Juve stated the Reds are ahead of Juventus and other clubs in the race to sign OGC Nice’s Khéphren Thuram.
Liverpool’s interest in the 22-year-old is highlighted by Calciomercato when discussing the Serie A side’s plans for January.
It’s claimed the Turin club have to look for a new midfielder due to off-field issues around Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli, and Thuram has been identified as one of the targets. His profile fits the Old Lady’s requirement but it won’t be easy to sign him.
The report says an offer of ‘at least’ €25-30m is needed to convince the Ligue 1 side. This makes it difficult for Juventus, who will also have to ‘anticipate strong competition’ from both Liverpool and Inter Milan.
With regards to Jürgen Klopp’s side, Calciomercato state they already looked at the player in the summer. Among these three sides, Inter are on pole due to the presence of Thuram’s brother, Marcus, at the San Siro.
Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Marco Guidi told TV Play, relayed by Tutto Juve, that the Premier League is expected to be Khéphren’s next destination.
When discussing Juve’s chances of signing the Nice star, he said: “It’s very difficult to land Thuram, he’ll probably leave for the Premier League for a prohibitive price.”
