A few months ago, Eden Hazard’s father, Thierry admitted that he was unaware why the Chelsea star’s move to Real Madrid did not take shape.
The Blues forward’s brother, Thorgan, who plays for Borussia Monchengladbach, gave an interview to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.
The Bundesliga player was asked why the west London club’s attacker’s “dream transfer” to the Santiago Bernabeu did not go through.
Thorgan said, “He [Eden] is in the same situation as me, they [Chelsea] did not want to sell him.
“In retrospect, it a good thing Eden decided to stay. He is doing great at Chelsea, while Real Madrid are in a very difficult situation after Zidane and Ronald left.”
Chelsea parted ways with Antonio Conte and replaced him with Maurizio Sarri and since the latter’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, the English club are unbeaten in all competitions this season.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, saw their manager Zinedine Zidane and star player Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club in the summer and are currently struggling in La Liga.
Despite the current situation, the Monchengladbach forward was asked if his brother will leave the Premier League club as he has over 18 months left on his Chelsea’s contract.
“It is now up to Eden to decide what he will do after the season. If he has to sign, he will sign, and if he has to leave, he will leave without any fuss, he has always given everything for Chelsea,” he added.
Despite what Thorgan may say, that Eden didn’t join Real Madrid in the summer probably wasn’t the player’s choice.
