Brighton and Hove Albion are yet to make a firm offer for Universitario de Deportes youngster Piero Quispe, despite reports to the contrary.
That’s according to journalist Christian Martin, who insists the Seagulls are yet to move for the 21-year-old but are watching him closely.
According to Martin’s information, Bright are ‘closely following’ Quispe as they continue to scour the world market for the young stars of the future.
Several reports had indicated that they had made a €10m bid for the player but that is not the case, and he is only on Brighton’s list of options for now.
They have a list of young Latin American players who they are following ahead of potentially signing the future and was picked up thanks to the fact they have a ‘significant number of scouts’ in his homeland Peru.
That is why he has entered the club’s orbit and they are continuing to monitor him, although he also has potential suitors in Germany as well.
Whether that pushes Brighton to move sooner rather than later and add him to their ever-expanding list of young talents from Latin America remains to be seen.
