The Dutch media is reporting René Hake is in surprise talks over a move to Manchester United.
Currently head coach at Go Ahead Eagles, the Dutchman would be giving that up if he accepts the move to Old Trafford.
Voetbal International sound confident about the prospect, and say that whilst Manchester United haven’t made contact with Go Ahead Eagles yet, that is expected to happen soon.
Hake has a clause in his contract with the Dutch club, which will allow him to make the move. The report doesn’t put a figure on that clause, or make clear whether it involves any payment at all.
Ten Hag worked with his compatriot whilst at FC Twente, and that’s where the connection has come from.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has also been in talks regarding a return to Manchester United and be part of Ten Hag’s team, and the report mentions that and doesn’t appear to rule out him also arriving.
Go Ahead Eagles finished 9th in the Eredivisie last season.
