As Manchester United continue to be linked to several goalkeepers, here’s one more to that list.
According to reports from France, the Red Devils are interested in Lille’s Lucas Chevalier.
The chase is reported by Ignazio Genuardi, who, on Twitter, highlights that the 21-year-old had ‘remarkable performances’ for the Ligue 1 side this season.
It’s said that Chevalier ‘caught the eye’ from Manchester United scouts, with the Red Devils now ‘closely monitoring’ his performances.
Chevalier is a product of the French club’s youth ranks, but had spent the last season on loan at Valenciennes, and returned to the club last summer.
Since his comeback, he made 34 appearances this season, conceding 34 goals and keeping 12 clean sheets.
His current Transfermarkt valuation is €10m, although Lille should clearly demand more than that. Now we need to see whether Manchester United will look to replace David De Gea this summer or just find someone who’ll be an option in the squad.
