Just after the January transfer window shut, it was revealed that Aston Villa had tried to sign Raoul Bellanova from Torino, and now we learn that West Ham United also gave it a go.
The information is revealed by Tuttosport, relayed by Toro News, covering the future of the Italian player, who appears to be set for a transfer away in the summer.
Bought last summer for just €7m, the belief is that his value has more than doubled over the past 12 months, and both Aston Villa and West Ham would have to pay a premium to get him.
It’s explained that his value for Italian clubs would be around €15m, but with more money in the Premier League, a higher price would be demanded.
Torino, should West Ham or Aston Villa come knocking, would then ask for ‘between €20-25m’ for their player, and it ‘always depends on who knocks on the door’, as well as the number of interested sides.
It’s then recalled that both the Villans and the Hammers ‘moved in January’ for the 23-year-old, only for their advances to be ‘rejected’.
With Aston Villa and West Ham now aware of the costs involved in this potential deal, they simply need to ensure he wants to come and then open up their wallets to please Urbano Cairo, Torino’s president.
