James Rodríguez has enjoyed a good start to life in England after arriving at Everton from Real Madrid in the summer window.

The 29-year-old struggled for regular opportunities with the La Liga winners last season, making only five starts in the league and one in the Champions League.

The Colombian edition of Marca takes a look at the problems inside the Real Madrid dressing room and cites a few incidents that took place recently.

Those incidents are Isco being caught on camera criticising Zinedine Zidane’s substitution in Real Madrid’s El Clasico win over Barcelona, the French manager preferring at times Eden Hazard, even though he is not in good form, Borja Mayoral revealing Zidane wanting to transfer Luka Jović over him and the incident involving Karim Benzema and Vinícius Júnior.

These are pointed out by Marca to suggest there are still problems within the Spanish capital club.

Last season, the Colombia international was ‘accused’ of destabilising Real Madrid’s dressing room.

Marca states: ‘Both he [James] and Bale seemed to be guilty of a delicate situation in which they did not count for Zinedine Zidane. Everything exploded in the last part of the season, when the Colombian player was not even called up with the team.’

However, the aforementioned incidents seem to dispel the accusations against James of causing trouble at Santiago Bernabéu during the previous term.

Marca say ‘innocent’ James, who is far away from Real Madrid, has ‘found happiness’ at Everton as the Toffees manager, Carlo Ancelotti ‘understands’ the player.

The South American has three goals and four assists in all competitions for the Merseyside club.
