Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has publicly expressed his wish to reunite with Piotr Zieliński in the future.

The Red Devils midfielder shared the dressing room with the current Napoli player when the two were at Udinese.

Zieliński joined the Naples club in 2016, after spending five years at Udinese. Fernandes joined them a year after the Poland international arrived in Udine and spent three seasons with the club owned by the Pozzo family.

Although the two players shared the dressing room, they couldn’t spend a lot of time on the pitch together because Zieliński struggled to get minutes at Udinese.

The Portugal international has given an interview to Poland’s Canal Plus Sport and was in full praise of the Napoli midfielder.

“Technically, I can say that Zieliński is better trained than I am. We had a good challenge. I think in the past, Zieliński was actually a bit shy. He was really young then, just like me, at that time,” Fernandes said.

“However, we came from different countries, different mentality, and it was different for both of us. I have a really good relationship with Piotr. He’s a top guy, I like him a lot. He is one of the people I met in Italy with whom I am in touch all the time.

“I spoke to him a few months ago and told him that I would like to play with him again. So, who knows what the future has waiting for us. For me, he is a really, really top player.”

Even though Fernandes admitted he wants to reunite with Zieliński, he didn’t categorically say he wants to play with him at Manchester United, although that is clearly going to be the assumption taken.
