Mads Juel Andersen is very happy to be featuring regularly at Luton Town this season.

He joined Luton in July 2023, when they were in the Premier League. They faced back-to-back relegation and are in League One this season.

Luton Town are currently 11th in the table and earlier this week they appointed Jack Wilshere as their new manager.

Denmark’s Tipsbladet have had a detailed chat with Mads Juel Andersen about Wilshere’s arrival, life under the new manager and other topics.

Towards the end, they also discussed Malmö FF interest. Last summer, the 27-year-old was expected to leave Luton Town after their drop to the third division.

Claims from Sweden stated Malmö FF was an option. Tipsbladet have found out that there was indeed interest, but a transfer was never close.

A move to Malmö FF would have seen the centre-back play in Sweden’s top flight and in the Europa League this season. However, the Dane explained he’s happy at Luton Town as he’s been playing regularly this season.

“My priority has always been to get playing time. If it was in Luton, then great. And if it wasn’t in Luton, then so be it. Now I’m playing, and I’m just really happy about that,” he said.

The defender hasn’t played for Denmark yet and dreams of representing them.

“The ambitions now is to play, prove myself, get as far as possible and dream about the national team. I have the level to be up there, where it’s really fun. Now I’m playing in League One after having a taste of the Premier League, but I really just appreciate being able to play again,” Mads Juel Andersen explained.
