It seems Real Sociedad have just received some bad news prior to their Europa League match against Manchester United.
As reported by COPE, French centre-back Robin Le Normand had a physical issue which could leave him out of Thursday’s game at Old Trafford.
The story claims he has a ‘bone injury due to mechanical stress in the second metatarsal of the left foot’.
In other words, that means he’s a ‘doubt’ for the match against Manchester United.
That’s a big blow for Real Sociedad, as Le Normand has been an important player for their defensive sector, having played the 90 minutes in all four games they have played in La Liga this season so far.
The game against Manchester United on Thursday is the opening match of Europa League’s Group E, which also features Sheriff from Moldova and Omonia from Cyprus.
Real Sociedad come from a fairly decent campaign in La Liga, having picked up seven points after four fixtures, only beaten by Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
Manchester United, meanwhile, come from four consecutive wins in the Premier League, including Sunday’s victory against Arsenal.
