Nayef Aguerd has been linked with a West Ham United exit for much of the summer, with a new club seemingly added to the chase every week.
The 28-year-old has a contract with the Hammers lasting until June 2027, having arrived at the London club from Rennes in 2022.
He started last season as a first choice for David Moyes, and spent much of the campaign in the starting line-up. Towards the end of the season he dropped away from prominence and hasn’t featured for West Ham so far in the 2024/25 campaign.
FootMercato’s Santi Aouna reports Real Sociedad have moved into the picture to sign the defender, and are ready to rival Villarreal to a transfer.
There’s also interest from the Middle East, but there’s no indication of what transfer fee is required or what has been offered.
Aouna believes a decision on the player’s future will be made in the next few hours or days. Given he could move to somewhere other than a major market, this could even drag on beyond Friday evening.
