Sevilla have put Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca towards the top of their list of options to replace Quique Sanchez Flores this summer.
That’s according to journalist Samuel Silva, who reports that Maresca is currently part of a three-man list of favourites being considered.
They explain that Sevilla are moving on the coaching market as they plan to move on from Sanchez Flores in the summer.
Maresca is a long-term target for the club, having been considered a candidate to keep an eye on by those in charge in Nervión for some time.
He’s been in charge at Leicester since last summer and has impressed with them this season, leading them to second in the Championship in a good campaign, albeit one that has fallen away in recent months.
Whether they can secure promotion back to the Premier League will influence any decisions about his future, despite him having a contract until 2026.
Sevilla would have to negotiate with Leicester to get him if they made him their number one target, but its’s said Maresca has always felt very close to the Spanish club and he would sway favour with the fans if he was appointed, both factors which encourage them to move.
Thus, there is a ‘real possibility’ of him leaving Leicester and moving to Sevilla this summer, should those in charge decide he’s the one they really want.
