It’s been well over a month since we covered a Karim Benzema to Arsenal story, but considering the striker is currently being outshone by Alvaro Morata, it was only a matter of time.

The famous Real Madrid BBC have been having a few issues, with the backups impressing far more since the start of the season, and Diario Gol think this could mean the end of the Frenchman at the Spanish club.

Ever since his arrival from Lyon in 2007, the goalscorer has been a Florentino Pérez favourite, being defended by the Real Madrid president no matter what form he was in or what he did off the pitch, but the times, they are a changin’.

With everything that’s happened surrounding the striker over the past few months, Diario Gol report Benzema’s value is decreasing steadily, and that’s making Pérez think it might be time to get rid.

Arsenal are apparently the most likely destination, having asked about his availability in the summer and being told he wasn’t for sale, the potential value of any deal would now be halved, going from €70m to €35m.

The other exit option for him would be Paris Saint-Germain.

Considering Benzema is still only 28 years old, that wouldn’t be a bad deal, but we don’t really believe this.

The main reason is because this comes from Diario Gol, a Barcelona based website, who, less than two months ago, claimed Gareth Bale wasn’t happy at Real Madrid.

What’s happened since then? He’s signed a three-year contract extension.

Benzema’s deal with Madrid has three years left on it, as well, meaning they can easily get more than €35m for him if they wish to sell him.
