Every year it’s the same old story: Gareth Bale is ‘unhappy’ at Real Madrid, and a return to the Premier League, normally to Manchester United, is touted.
This time it’s Diario Gol who get the ball rolling with a rather incendiary article on Thursday claiming the Welsh winger wants to ‘destroy’ the Spanish giants.
The former Tottenham star is apparently very unhappy with his treatment from both Florentino Pérez and Zinedine Zidane, and this has led him to think about leaving the Champions League champions.
His disagreement with his president comes in the form of a broken promise that he would be the main man at Real Madrid this year with a new contract in his back pocket, but neither of those things happened…
As for the French manager, Bale isn’t very happy about being substituted in the 70th minute on Wednesday night when he felt he’d contributed a lot more than both Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
To summarise, you could say he’s angry and confused.
Diario Gol go on to say that Jonathan Barnett, Gareth Bale’s agent, has been flirting for months with Manchester United, where José Mourinho would love to make him his ‘star signing’ next summer.
And where are Diario Gol from? Barcelona!
