The hype around N’Golo Kante doesn’t seem to cool down, and rightly so. The Leicester City star was outstanding throughout the Premier League campaign, and is now doing the same for the French national team.
According to Spain’s El Confidencial, Real Madrid are considering signing Kante after his impressive performances during the Euros.
El Confidencial say Real Madrid transfer target Paul Pogba was dropped in the last game, whilst Kante was retained, and the Leicester star is likely to cost much less than the Juventus star.
The Spanish website also reckon there is no release clause in Kante’s contract, but they feel he would cost Real Madrid less than €30m.
Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has been demanding a record transfer fee for his client, but his performance against Romania was underwhelming.
The player has also been linked to Arsenal and Manchester United, and it seems increasingly unlikely Leicester would be able to keep Kante beyond summer, if the likes of Real Madrid come in for him.
There’s some disagreement over the existence of a clause and, if there isn’t one and Kante continues to shine, a fee of less than €30m would surely be unlikely.
