Nottingham Forest face Real Betis in their first Europa League group stage fixture of this season at the Villamarin Stadium on Wednesday.
On Monday, we covered claims from Spain that Real Betis left-back Ricardo Rodriguez has returned to training while Nelson Deossa, Pablo García and Isco weren’t part of the group on Monday.
García is currently with the Spain squad preparing for the upcoming U20 World Cup and will miss the clash against Nottingham Forest, while Deossa and Isco are recovering from injuries. Diego Llorente has been added to that list, according to claims from Spain.
Tuesday’s edition of Diario de Sevilla report the centre-back didn’t train yesterday due to a discomfort and is a ‘serious doubt’ to face the Premier League club this week.
Another Spanish newspaper, AS, also report the 32-year-old was the ‘main absentee’ from Real Betis’ session yesterday, and he was forced to miss the training due to a discomfort.
The former Leeds United man missed the start of the season due to a muscle injury and AS say the latest setback isn’t related to that. He made his first appearance against Real Sociedad last weekend and was replaced after the break.
According to the report, Llorente is expected to miss the Europa League clash against Ange Postecoglou’s side.
ABC Sevilla, a newspaper local to Real Betis, also state Llorente didn’t train yesterday due to a muscle discomfort.
They claim the Spanish defender ‘won’t play’ against Nottingham Forest, while the other two newspaper aren’t certain that he’ll be out for Wednesday’s clash.
