Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun’s decision to join Stade de Reims on loan last summer has paid off as he’s starred for them this season, managing 21 goals and three assists from 37 games.
The 21-year-old’s fine displays for the Ligue 1 side may not be enough to convince Mikel Arteta to include him in his plans at the Emirates next season.
According to Calciomercato, Arsenal don’t consider him a ‘non-transferable’ player. In fact, they are ‘ready to listen to offers’ for him in the summer.
Balogun’s displays for Reims have pleased Milan, who have made him their favourite striker target. They are trying to sign the Arsenal owned striker and to do that, they are set to hold talks with his agent before the end of this season.
Milan chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are pleased with Balogun’s profile but face two obstacles to secure his services.
The first is the competition they will face from other clubs to sign him, especially since RB Leipzig have been in the front row for several weeks. The second obstacle is Arsenal’s valuation of over €30m.
Balogun is the main target for Milan but they need to find a way to overcome those two obstacles.
