Reading are in contact with Rio Ave’s president as they looking to negotiate the hiring of manager José Gomes, according to reports on Tuesday.
Portuguese newspaper Record reports today that the Royals have spoken to Rio Ave president Antonio Silva Campos in order to know what would have to be spent to take their coach.
Despite the negotiations, Record says that things are not happening so quickly, as José Gomes will manage the Portuguese team in the match against Sporting tomorrow.
President Antonio Silva Campos is now said to be analysing if the amount offered by Reading is good enough to let the manager go.
Record doesn’t know exactly how much are Reading offering, but since they were ready to pay €1m to take Luis Castro from Vitoria Guimarães, a similar amount is expected for José Gomes.
This weekend, José Gomes confirmed the invitation from the Royals, and claimed that it’s all in Rio Ave’s hands now.
