Reports from Brazil continue to stir speculation about Jhon Arias, with Flamengo once again linked to the Wolverhampton winger.

A Flamengo-focused news page claimed the Rio club are evaluating a proposal to bring the Colombian back. BolaVip also highlighted his difficult start in the Premier League and suggested he has come onto Flamengo’s radar.

Since leaving Fluminense in a deal that could reach €22m (£18.5m), Arias has only played 350 minutes for Wolves. Arias has struggled to earn a place under Vitor Pereira despite the club sitting bottom of the league after five defeats.

Despite a decent performance in the Carabao Cup against Everton, his scenario has fuelled talk in Brazil that Flamengo could attempt a move. It would be similar to Zenit’s Gerson, who was a Fluminense player but came back to Brazil to play for Flamengo after European difficulties.

Jhon Arias not ready to give up at Wolves

At the same time, Jhon Arias himself has spoken about his future. In an interview with AS Colombia, he insisted he’s happy at Wolverhampton and has no plans to leave. “We all see how complex it is. It’s a different league and football compared to what I was used to in Brazil,” he said.

He added: “The truth is I’m happy because it makes me improve. Raise my level, forces me out of my comfort zone and helps me grow. It’s an intense and physical league, and personally it’s a good place to grow.”

Recent comments we have covered from journalist Julio Miguel Neto only add fuel to the rumours. He claimed Flamengo are already “counting on Wolves’ relegation” to make an offer in 2026. There is internal movement within the club preparing for a squad reshuffle to fit Arias.

For now, however, the 28-year-old remains focused on adapting to English football. His words underline that he views the challenge as an opportunity, even as speculation from Brazil continues to point to Flamengo keeping a close eye on his situation.
