Middlesbrough were strongly linked with a move for Raphaël Wicky before the Championship club settled on Kim Hellberg last week.

Agreeing the final details to take Hellberg from Hammarby took a little longer than usual, and Boro were able to announce the manager on Monday. David Selini is also moving from Hammarby to Middlesbrough.

He’s not the only coach who Hellberg wants as part of his team.

On Monday, we covered a report from Sweden which revealed Anes Mravac is another. He’s worked with the Middlesbrough manager before and is expected to do so again.

However, Mravac is currently the interim manager at Malmö FF and won’t be able to leave the Swedish club until December. Middlesbrough are apparently happy to wait to ensure Hellberg gets the help he wants.

So what do Malmö FF then do? Well, there’s a possibility they could complete the circle and appoint Raphaël Wicky themselves.

That’s reported by Swedish newspaper Expressen. Given the clubs Wicky has been linked to over the past year or so, Malmö FF would be a surprise move.

That said, Hellberg has now shown how shining in Sweden can lead to a top Championship club.
