On May 25th, Rangers’ Sam Lammers revealed that he’s unsure on whether or not he will be part of Philippe Clement’s plans at Ibrox next season.
Rangers allowed the striker to spend the second half of the season on loan at FC Utrecht and he starred for them, managing 11 goals and three assists from 20 games.
Utrecht technical director Jordy Zuidam has already confirmed his side’s desire to retain the Rangers owned player.
This is backed up by Voetbal International, who then provide the latest on the 27-year-old’s future.
The report says his performances this year could convince Rangers to request a fee that will be difficult for Utrecht to match. The Dutchman’s contract at Ibrox lasts until 2027 and his current salary seems to be beyond the Eredivisie side’s reach.
These are the factors that will make it difficult for Utrecht to bring the Rangers man back to the club in the summer window. If a deal can’t be concluded, they will look for another striker.
Lammers, for his part, will ‘first hold talks’ with Philippe Clement’s side before making a decision on his future.
As well as Utrecht, AZ Alkmaar are also said to be interested in the Rangers man.
